Reach for Bounty

These last couple of weekends I have been occupied painting my banner for the Annual Placerville Downtown Banners on Parade. This is the third time I have entered this event, and I find it very rewarding. Not only does it give me a chance to put my work out on Main Street for the summer, but it is a fantastic way to celebrate the arts in El Dorado County. The event is sponsored by the Placerville Downtown Merchants as well as local artists.

I recommend a visit to Main Street anytime, but especially once the banners are up!!! Fun.

This year, I combined my love for the harvest we get every year in famous Apple Hill (apples, pumpkins, christmas trees, etc.) with a thought about what is the real bounty and what is most important. Besides may be obvious in this painting, I have hidden symbols for love, hope and freedom of speech . I may add a few more hidden symbols before I turn it in for the judging next weekend, so you will have to come to the Main and check it out. See what you think.
