Whenever there are ambulance or fire sirens around my house, I also hear the moaning wail of a neighbor's hound dog. It reminds me of a little hound dog that we had for a very short time when my girls were little. Lucky was a blonde and white hound dog, who also moaned loudly when circumstances were hard on his ears. We had to give him up because a neighbor of ours came over - quite concerned about how the sound affected his very ill wife. I sometimes imagine that the wailing hound that lives up the hill from me now, might be Lucky. But he would have to be pretty old – about 20 years -- so I know that it cannot be the case.

Lucky is a nice, sturdy bottle gourd - about 12 inches tall, leather dye, acrylic paint, embossing powder.
