Late Practice

Dear Friends-

Sometimes it feels good to simply paint for fun. Typically, I have a message I want to convey or an event to record and usually the subject matter is a bit on the heavier side. But this time I decided to simply have fun. I used acrylics instead of oil because I find them easier to handle, even if the depth and longevity of color is not as good as with oil. They become difficult to work with in the desert though because they dry so fast. But what they lack in depth, they make up for in imaginative sparkling color.  Or so I think.

But also, the subject matter in this painting is a kid that I know who tends to be very fun. Leonardo, in fact, specializes in knowing how to have fun.  And I love him for that and so much more.

Not for sale, obviously, but I may do some more like this
