Friends -
First of all, I want to thank those of you that
came to the Studio Tour last month. I do these
for the pleasure of visiting with friends and
to meet new people interested in art, and maybe
I make some money for a good cause at the same
time. All of this happened, with M.O.R.E. and
Alzheimer's Association as beneficiaries, and
I am grateful to you. I left shortly after
the tour to go hike in Utah canyons for 2 weeks.
Now that I am back, the donations will be given
to the deserving agencies.
This Hubble gourd is one that I actually started
during the tour -- some of you may have noticed.
Since I am a scientist by occupation and a casual
fan of astrophysics, I had to acknowledge the
wonderful photos that the Hubble has been bringing
us lately. We invested in outfitting it with
a new camera and spectrographs, and as a result
we are seeing more images -- astonishingly gorgeous
views of galaxies or explosive something's that
happened probably hundreds of millions of years
ago. Photographs of the very distant past!
I really like this Hubble gourd, and due to a
dear 'almost family' member who was recently
diagnosed with pre-diabetes, the amount that
this gourd is sold for will be given to the Juvenile
Diabetes Research Foundation.
Best regards -
