Fruit Loops

I guess the name for this requires some explanation.
It all started with Kathy's Read Smith's request
for a stool for her almost-two year old son,
Reed. There was no clarity about what he would
like at the beginning, except that he seemed
to like the color green. Hearing that my mind
popped to the world of childhood imaginary jungles
and things like the Toucan that used to decorate
boxes of Fruit Loops (at least a few decades
ago). Later it was decided that Reed is very
partial to frogs, so I did not do the Toucan
stool. But I had already started putting one
on a gourd for practice sake. So that is how
this came about. Other than that, it has no special
significance, except I do love birds - colorful
and bright. I hope to learn more about drawing
with knowledge of some zoology and be more anatomically
correct some day..
Fruit Loops is about 10 inches tall, decorated
with pyrography, leather dye, acrylic paint and
embossing powder. The money for this gourd will
go to UNICEF, or M.O.R.E. I am also open to having
to a different non-profit that you desire, as
long as it is for a good cause such as human
rights, environmental protection, or public health.
