Death Hollow

The name 'Death Hollow' sounds as though it must come out of some old-time novel with tales of headless horsemen running around spreading warnings at midnight. But actually, Death Hollow is a real place near Boulder, Utah. This particular spot is at the bottom of Box - Death Hollow Wilderness area, part of Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. After a long and difficult hike, with a steep descent, it is wonderful to come to this shady and cool location adjacent to an unnamed creek. Not many people can get there, so I have brought a bit of it back for you with this painting.
