Rosa -Big Sweetness

This particular pastel was an experiment for me. I rarely do animals in any media, and have never done one in pastel. But I did want to try it. Well, it seemed to me that Rosa is the perfect subject for this. Rosa the pup, that is. Not my daughter.

Well, this particular Rosa is happily astonishing. If you get a chance to meet her, you will fall in love with her right away. It is not easy to explain exactly why this pooch captures your heart. What is it?

Rosa is a big girl. She has grown about 30% larger than she was supposed to grow, according to her parents. But Rosa has also retained the rolling puppy energy along with sweet innocence and curiosity about everything. Put the size together with the boundless energy and one of the sweetest puppy

Anyway, I know I have things to learn about animal portraits. But I am not displeased with how this turned out. I hope you enjoy it, too.
