On the Verge

On the Verge

Friends -

I finally found myself with some time to paint without a 'mission' to accomplish. What I mean by that is, there was nothing pre-determined about what I should paint, who should benefit, or another other specifications. The only objective here was to give my consciousness permission to fall into myself. And paint.

So, here is 'On The Verge' which is a presentation of one of my most favorite places. It is from public lands and rolling hills of the American River. I was there in March, and at a time of year when spring sunshine and warmth was beginning to allow wildflowers. In fact, there had been talk of a Super Bloom in California this year, and it could have been poppies and lupin in this area. So, I packed my gear up with some amount of expectation.

But alas, while the air was warm and fragrant, and some brave flowerets were popping out, there was no Super Bloom yet. Perhaps it was right On The Verge.

This 9x12" pastel on sanded Wallis paper will be bigger once framed. I am offering it for your donation to a worthwhile non-profit preferably one that deals with public lands.

And don't forget to go out and get into the wilderness somehow. It will ground you.
